5 February 2012

Have moved workshop.

Packing up and moving after 12 years was a job but now completed.

Great new workspace and even has a yard and attached wood storage area.

First workshop job is  making oak roof trusses for a new kitchen extension.

Roger Hickmans restaurant refurbished and the job of installing the renovated vennered panel in the Mancroft rooms at city hall completed. Has been a great privaledge to work with John Barnard on such a project.

Even got a micro adventure a few weeks ago, sleeping out  up in north norfolk on the marshes. A little cold but the sound of the cannadian geese was beautiful.  Turned down an offer of camping down in Thetford forest this weekend too cold for me.  Decided it was time to purchase a new sleeping bag and bivi.

Only two quotes out and order books full till the end of this month. Looking a bit scary, think this could be  completly different from the early 90s recession. But in Alan Sugars words stop winging and get on with it.

New year new start

4 January 2012

End of last year very busy, this year looks even  like its going the same way.

First job Refurbisment of Roger Hickmans restaurant in upper st giles norwich and then back to the city council with John Barnard to refit the panelling we removed the end of last year for restoration. More kitchen cupboards to be made. Looks like january is full. then first week of feb big change moving workshop, after 12 years in oak st I have felt it is time for a change. choice of three offers . Think I am going to take the one with the lowest cost (As who knows what the ecomonical situation is going to be in twelve months time) . Also as it has barn doors I will be able to produce some larger pieces of work. Happy new year to anyone who reads this and if you have any interesting comissions send me an email. best wishes for the new year

6 November 2011

Again work still Busy looking good till at least new year.

More timber sales. Finaly managed to remove the vennered pannel from city hall for John Barnard. Unfortunately because of its construction it had to be removed in two parts.

Managed to get a couple of afternoons on the bureau, about 60 hours work and probably another 40 to go. Makes you realise how good value antiques are so long as they dont need restoration.

Looking forward to thursday, back to sawmills to get up some oak.
